This Week...

I decided that Paul needed a break what with all the mayhem of the workshop moves, so I booked a few days away near Buxton in Derbyshire for his Birthday!

We found a cosy looking farmhouse advertised on the net, when we arrived it had slightley more Patina than expected (& more leaks than a set of repro safari windows!) And was stuck in the middle of nowhere with views for miles!

It was an ace chilled out weekend, and we walked miles.

Spent most of the weekend quoting 'Withnail & I' If you have seen the film, you will know why!

Wicked place, can't wait to go back - altho we may wait for summer, so we dont have to drag the bed downstairs to sleep in front of the coal fire to keep warm lol!

Musical Busses!

Well it finally feels like we are getting somewhere!

We started looking for a new workshop in the summer, after a few winters of freezing in a huge barn the time had definately come to move to a workshop thats easier to heat and nicer to work in.

We looked at quite a few places, but none of the industrial estates had the chilled countryside surroundings that we are used to.

We finally came across this place (which is about 15 mins from Colchester and Sudbury) which had everything we were looking for, but it needed some pretty major work before we could move in.

Its an old calf shed, so a nice low roof to keep it toasty (so low we've had to raise the roof beams) we also had to knock a wall down to fit van sized doors, remove 50 years worth of creature nests in the rotting roof panels (that was a GREAT job - it seriously stank)  and repaint the whole place.

We are getting there, one end is nearly done and some vans are now in so workshop action can get back to normal. We've still got to re-concrete one complete end of the barn, and finish of the painting, but after several very long weeks of work, we finally feel like The Bus Barn has it's new home...

The other bonus is the cute new workshop companions (owned by Dennis the farm manager) Puppy Purdy (who steals EVERYTHING) and Brady
